LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE

2004-2007 Senior Vice Chancellor, California Community College System Office Advocated for and sustained funding for 2.1 million students served by the California Community Colleges.  

1998-2004Director of Governmental Relations, Los Angeles County Office of Education lead the Office of Government Relations, which advances the budget and policy interests of the nation’s second largest County Office of Education in Sacramento and Washington D.C.

1994-1998 Legislative Aide State Senator Teresa P. Hughes, developed and managed legislation. Researched issues, written amendments, developed coalitions,  briefing memos and statements, analyzing proposed legislation and policies.

1993-1994 California State Senate Fellow, served as full-time Senate staff assigned to State Senator Teresa P. Hughes. Served as part of the public policy staff team in the Capitol, helping develop legislative proposals, researching and analyzing bills, responding to constituent inquiries and writing press releases and speeches.
